Language/duration/credits
The regular duration of the MiMM degree course is 3 semesters. You can start the course either in an autumn or a spring semester. You can choose between an English-language and a German-language track. The two programmes will have the same structure. Compulsory courses will be taught in both languages. In core electives, some will be offered in German, others in English. To obtain a MiMM degree, you will require 90 credits, which can be divided up as follows:
Core studies
Compulsory subjects and core electives (42 ECTS) are based on the innovative 3-Track-System that we have developed. The great number of institutes involved constitutes the foundation for excellent cooperation with practice. The numerous application areas and application projects provide you with a unique opportunity to gather experience in essential dynamic industries.
Independent electives (12 ECTS) include cross-programme courses. You can either attend additional core electives of our MiMM Master or select courses from other Master’s programmes. You are also able to choose from among lectures that are specially offered as independent electives.
Contextual studies
Our core studies are complemented by contextual studies (18 ECTS), which provide you with an opportunity to enlarge upon and apply interdisciplinary knowledge, particularly in the field of sociology, psychology, communication and languages.
You can also earn a maximum of 6 practice credits through practical work that is closely related to the subject matter of your degree course. Depending on the situation, practice credits are credited to contextual studies or independent electives.
