BLOOMBERG

The Bloomberg database offers financial data: real-time prices, fundamental data, graphical applications, financial-analysis tools and news from their own news agency and other providers.
Near the Search and Find desk in the library you will have access to a Bloomberg Terminal. You can find login instructions and an icon to start the programme right on the desktop. You will need your mobile phone at hand because the validation code necessary for finishing the registration is sent to your mobile number (SMS).

In addition, 10 Bloomberg terminals are available in our Dataroom 01-U206 - they are placed particularly in the middle of the three pc-rows, easily recognisable by the coloured keyboard. Registration process is the same as described above.

Bloomberg can and may only be used by HSG members.

Please pay attention that data download is not too excessive. Due to daily and monthly download limits it is not possible to download data infinitely. Unfortunately, users are not able to verify how much data has yet been downloaded at a specific point in time. If a limit has been achieved please try again at another Bloomberg PC or on another day, respectively.

In order to alleviate the limit problems Bloomberg recommends to use Bloomberg Query Language (BQL). This facility allows to download the data in a more efficient way compared to conventional requests by means of BDP and BDH formulae. By doing so, much less data capacities will be stressed by each request than with BDP and BDH, respectively. Please use this option in the interest of all Bloomberg users at HSG. Bloomberg Market Concepts

Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) is a 12-hour e-learning course for an interactive introduction to the financial markets.

• Six modules on Economics, Equities, Fixed Income, Currencies, Getting started at the terminal and Portfolio Management.
• Each module takes one to two hours to complete.
• Modules can be completed in different order and can also be paused or restarted at any time.

FREE WEB BMC

For schools with 5+ billable terminals Bloomberg offers free access to sign up for BMC via the web. This means that an unlimited number of students can sign up to complete BMC in their own time via web access. From the sign up date they have 1 year to complete BMC.

BLOOMBERG FOR EDUCATION

Bloomberg for Education is pleased to announce a schedule of upcoming student-focused webinars. These events are a great way for students to hear from Bloomberg's market specialists about what factors are driving the current headlines - and an opportunity to ask them live questions. Big themes this fall include Inflation, Energy Prices and Behavioral Finance.All webinars are free to attend for students from Bloomberg Experiential Learning Partner universities. The webinars will be delivered via Bloomberg website, and students don't need to be in front of a Bloomberg terminal to participate.
